Jean B. Mishler
Jean B. Mishler, 83, New Paris, died 5:15 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, 2020 at Courtyard Healthcare, Goshen. She was born Oct. 15, 1936 in Montpelier, Ohio, to Kenneth & Pauline (Bollinger) Bauer. On April 18, 1959, she married Max Mishler.
Surviving are her husband, Max, New Paris, children, Daryl (Sue) Mishler, Goshen, Marsha (Brian) Dayhoff, Westminster, Maryland, Brian (Lois) Mishler, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, grandchildren, Ryan Mishler, Stephanie Dekker, Amy Jensen, Aaron Mishler, Cody Dayhoff, Hunter Dayhoff, six great-grandchildren and a brother, Kenneth “Skip“ (Sue) Bauer, New Paris.
Preceding her in death are her parents and sisters, Shirley Unley and Lois Gooch.
Jean was secretary of Mishler Plumbing and was owner/operator along with her husband for 26 years. She was a member of New Paris Church of the Brethren, where she served as custodian and financial secretary. Jean was a homemaker, enjoyed hooking rugs and spending time with her grandchildren. She made “world winning Snickerdoodle Cookies” according to her grandchildren.
Private graveside services will be held at New Paris Cemetery. Pastor Stan Godfrey will officiate. Memorial donations may be directed to Feed the Children, Heifer Project or New Paris Church of the Brethren.
The family would like to thank the staff of Courtyard Healthcare Center and AseraCare Hospice of Mishawaka.
