Update: One Dead, One Critical In Friday Night Crash

WARSAW – A Friday night crash left one woman dead and a man in critical condition.
The accident happened at 7:15 p.m. at the intersection of US 30 and CR 325E east of Warsaw.
Nancy E. Barrett, 77, of Warsaw, died from her injuries. She was a passenger in a Ford Fusion driven by Richard H. Anderson, 85, of Warsaw. Anderson was listed in critical condition late Friday night in a Fort Wayne hospital.
Barrett was pronounced dead at the scene by the Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office.
Anderson was traveling south on CR 325E and was crossing the eastbound lanes of US 30 when his vehicle was struck on the passenger side by an eastbound Toyota Tacoma driven by James A. Lewis, 61, of Huntington.
Lewis and a front-seat passenger in his vehicle were evaluated at the scene and released.
Two med flight helicopters from Lutheran EMS landed on the eastbound lanes of US 30 to assist.
Eastbound traffic was closed for nearly 90 minutes as a result of the crash.
Agencies responding included Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office, Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory, Pierceton police, Winona Lake police and Lutheran EMS.
