WARSAW — Two people were seriously injured in a two-vehicle accident early Friday night on US 30 east of Warsaw.
The accident occurred at about 7:15 p.m. at the intersection of US 30 and CR 325E, near the Merrywood Mobile Home Park.
The t-bone accident involved a silver Toyota Tacoma pickup, which was apparently traveling east on US 30 and struck a Ford that was crossing the intersection and headed south.
Impact of the crash left the car in a ditch on the south side of the highway and the pickup stopped nearby on the shoulder.
Occupants in the pickup did not appear to suffer serious injuries.
Two med flight helicopters with Lutheran EMS arrived to transport two people in the car.
Residents from the nearby neighborhood held onto and calmed a dog that had been traveling in the pickup, witnesses said.
Eastbound traffic on the highway was diverted to Wooster and Pierceton roads.
No other details were immediately available.
Agencies responding included Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office, Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory, Pierceton police, Winona Lake police and Lutheran EMS.
