Wawasee 3, Tippecanoe Valley 0
Rather than let matters string out, Wawasee changed its historical course. Wawasee closed out a 3-0 win against visiting Tippecanoe Valley Tuesday evening by a 25-21, 25-15, 25-18 match that lasted just over an hour.
“This is the kind of match that would have gone four or five games,” noted Wawasee head coach Jeff Phillips. “To sweep this match is a good statement moving forward.”
Wawasee got steady play from both sides of the line, using 29 combined digs from Kai Jamora and Bailey Mayhew, and 22 total kills from Emma Dippon, Leslie Vazquez and Amanda Allen. Vazquez and Dippon also added seven blocks, Allen had 22 assists and Jamora sent over three aces.
Wawasee also swept the JV contest in a 25-21, 25-15 result. Emma Siri had 11 digs and five kills, Laney Gross added six kills and Emma Young hoisted 16 assists for the victors.
“There was good leadership from Emma Siri and our hustle on passing and defense allowed us to play with consistency,” noted Wawasee JV coach Bri Foster.
Tippecanoe Valley did not supply its stats from either match.
