Life Scout Recreates US Map At Pierceton Elementary School
Staff Report
PIERCETON — Life Scout Nick Meadows of Troop 761 in Pierceton wanted to bring back something he remembered from his grade school experience. Nick is now a senior at Whitko High School but remembers the United States map that used to be on the Pierceton Elementary School grounds.
“It was a great way to learn about our country and its 50 states,” he noted in his project book.
When the new facility was built the map was lost during construction. Meadows got permission to paint a new map on the playground basketball court.
“It one of my best memories when we were asked to find a state and then also note the capital as well,” he shared during his Board of Review.
Troop 761 is part of the Lincolnway District of the Anthony Wayne Council, BSA. Every Scout who achieves the rank of Eagle must complete a project that shows leadership and has an impact on the community.
