WARSAW – The second part of changes to Hickory Street, north and south of Center Street, is set to start.
Work on Hickory Street is now moving to the block between Center Street and Market Street, the city said in a statement.
Hickory Street will be closed between Center Street and Market Street through approximately Aug. 27. Parking will be unavailable during this time. Residents should use other nearby on-street parking during the construction period.
Trash and recycling pick-up will not be interrupted.
This project will restructure Hickory Street to become a one-way street, with traffic flowing north and south from Center Street. Safety medians, curbing, parking changes and additional safety signage and signals will also be added to Hickory Street to improve safety when a train is approaching the area.
Motorists are encouraged to use caution and exercise patience while driving in the area to keep construction crews safe.
