Alton D. Bruner, 89, Burket, passed at 9:46 pm, Friday, Aug. 14, 2020, at Kosciusko Community Hospital of Warsaw.
Alton was born on Sept. 27, 1930 in Claypool, to the late Lester D. and Neva F. (Julian) Bruner. He married on Jan. 2, 1951 in Warsaw, Indiana to Mary Alice Justus, she survives.
Alton was a graduate of Beaver Dam High School. He worked for Bechtol Gas Service of Burket, Elliott’s Heating and Cooling of Warsaw, Ace Hardware of Mentone, and most recently Big R of Warsaw.
He served as an elder for the Mentone Church of Christ where he had attended for many years. He was a volunteer fireman for the Burket Fire Dept. where he served as chaplain for a time. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his wife Mary Alice Bruner, Burket; daughter Virginia and husband Milford Stephens, Claypool; sons Dennis and wife Edna Bruner, Warsaw, Doug and wife Martha, North Carolina, Kyle and wife Lalanya Bruner, Syracuse; a daughter-in-law Marty Jones. Several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren and a brother Darrel and wife Anita Burner, Claypool also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Steve, and a great granddaughter Abby.
No visitation or services will be held at this time.
