Willard H. Klotz
Willard H. Klotz, 97, Nappanee, passed away peacefully at 3:25 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 13, 2020 at his home. He was born August 19, 1922 in Nappanee to Jacob and Etta (Widmoyer) Klotz.
On March 3, 1945, he married Deloris F. Watkins in Nappanee; they were married 76 1/2 years. Willard lived most of his life in the Hepton area, south of Nappanee. He was a member of the Camp Creek Church of the Brethren where he was a long-time deacon and served and led over the years in every capacity except Ladies Aid President.
Over the years, Willard and Deloris hosted many youth group gatherings at their home where they would serve the students homemade funnel cakes. After retiring from a life of farming, Willard became a skilled woodworker and enjoyed making furniture for his children and grandchildren. Willard especially enjoyed tractor shows and in retirement he and Deloris wintered in Florida where Willard enjoyed competing in shuffleboard and bocce ball.
Surviving are his wife, Deloris Klotz, Nappanee; sons, Randy (Jeannine) Klotz, Kent (Dana) Klotz, both of Etna Green; grandchildren, Conrad (Missy) Klotz, Katrina (Pete) MacDonald, Jacob Klotz, Lori Dawn (Jerami) Huff, Jason Klotz, Bethany (Jeremy) Rifle, Ryan (Lindsay) Klotz; 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers, Walter, Harley, and Roy Klotz; sisters, Hazel Gay, Vera Martin and Mabel Klotz.
Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 16, at Camp Creek Church of the Brethren (7486 S.R. 19, Etna Green, IN). Pastors Roger Stewart and David Stackhouse will officiate. Burial will be in Union Center Cemetery.
