SYRACUSE — On Thursday, Aug. 13, for the first time since about mid-March students attended classes in person in the Wawasee Community School Corporation.
Among the numerous changes put in place due to the coronavirus pandemic are requiring students to wear face masks when walking from class to class in the hallways and while seated on buses. Cafeteria lines and food options have changed, more cleaning will be done throughout each day, students will have assigned seats in classrooms and on buses, classes will not be intermingled during recess time and more. Spreading students out more will be a focus in order to comply with social distancing requirements.
Wawasee offered the virtual option for learning for those students whose parents are not comfortable with sending their students to school in person. A total of 377 students enrolled in the virtual option.
