Chester Caudill
Chester Caudill, 98, Claypool, passed away on Wednesday, Augu. 12, 2020, in Lake City Place, Warsaw. Chester and his twin brother were born Aug. 29, 192,1 in Johnson Co., Ky. to Archie M. and Mary Ellen (Hackworth) Caudill. He was united in marriage to Imogene Jackson on Oct. 7, 1948, in Warsaw. She survives.
Chester was a World War II veteran, honorably discharged in December 1946. He proudly served his country as a Pfc (MP) in the U.S. Army and serving with Troop A, 91st Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron. In 1948 he began his career with NIPSCO as a certified welder, retiring in 1982. He enjoyed gardening, selling his produce at the Farmer’s Market, and was an avid beekeeper. He attended Rose Hill United Baptist Church.
Chester is survived by wife, Imogene Caudill; children, Steven Caudill, Kalamazoo, Mich.; Sandy (Dewey) Patterson, Warsaw; sister, Veta Holle, Laketon; two grandchildren, Phil (Stephanie) Patterson, St. Louis, Mo.; Lindsay (Jeremy) Neely, Warsaw. In addition, he is survived by five great-grandchildren, Dylan, Miles, and Lian Patterson, St Louis, Mo., Alexis and Emmitt Neely, Warsaw and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, twin brother (Lester), brothers, Clyde, Hebron, Herschel, Archie Jr.; and sisters Ruby, Lena, and Oleta.

A visitation will be held from 10 a.m.- noon on Monday, Aug. 17, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Lakeview Cemetery, Silver Lake with Pastor Rick Hurley officiating. Military Honors will be rendered by V.F.W. Post 1126 and American Legion Post #49.
