Mary Alice McGriff
Mary Alice (Lowry) McGriff, 83 of Argos, passed away Aug. 5, 2020, at 11:30 a.m. in Center for Hospice Care House, South Bend, Indiana following a short six week illness. On April 4, 1937, in Bourbon, she was born to Edward A. Lowry and Marie A. Hart and had lived most of her life in Marshall County, Indiana.
On March 13, 1954, she married Raymond Francis McGriff together they shared the next 60 years together before Raymond’s death on Jan. 16, 2014.
Mary was a housewife/homemaker and was actively involved in Marshall County 4-H volunteering countless hours; and the RSA – Roller Skating Association, Indianapolis.
She is survived by her daughter, Angela (Ja) Smith, Argos; sons: Rick (Cindy) McGriff, Waterboro, Maine; and Tony (Lillian) McGriff, Plymouth; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Michael McGriff; brothers, John Lowry and Carl Lowry; sister, Patricia Brugh; and grandson, Michael A. McGriff
Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 11, at the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos. Funeral Services will follow with Rev. Robert E. Rice and Richard Tracy. Burial will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos.
