Jose Ramirez
Jose Ramirez, 89, Akron, passed at 12:23 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 1, 2020, at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Jose was born on May 31, 1931, in Santiago Capitiro, Guanajuato, Mexico to the late Rafael Ramirez Arriaga and Mercedes Arroyo Rosas. He married on Aug. 1, 1954, in Victoria de Cortazar, Guanajuato, Mexico to Maria de Jesus Hernandez Ruiz, she survives.
He was a farm worker his whole life working for his family. He helped raise cattle, pigs, corn, wheat, and beans on the farm.
Jose was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Rochester. He loved music. He enjoyed dancing and singing. He is remembered as a loving grandfather and gave the best blessings.
He is survived by his wife MaChucha, and children, Javier Ramirez and wife Emma, Margarita Ruiz and husband Manuel, Onecimo Ramirez and wife Lupe, Olga Hernandez and husband Chencho, Ilda Rojas and husband Nati, Juan Ramirez and wife Martha, Martha Jurado and husband Rafael, Maria Ramirez and husband Antonio, and Antonio Hernandez, who was like a son to him. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson. His siblings include Rafael Ramirez, Manuel Ramirez, Alfonso Ramirez, Elias Ramirez, Maria Ramirez, and Dolores Ramirez.
He is preceded in death by a daughter Maria Ramirez, grandson Emmanuel Ramirez, a great grandson Mathias Garcia, and siblings Jesus Ramirez, Antonio Ramirez, and Salvador Ramirez.
A private family Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday in the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1310 Main Street Rochester, Indiana with Father Michael McKinney officiating.
Everyone is invited at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 8, for the interment in the Akron Cemetery, Akron.
Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 7, at Hartzler Funeral Home, 305 West Rochester Street Akron.
Masks will be required for all in attendance for the services for Mr. Ramirez.
