WARSAW – A two-vehicle accident on SR 15 caused multiple injuries Sunday Night, August 2.
At 8:01 p.m. Sunday, August 2, Kelsey L. Wertenberger, 27, was leaving the Mcdonald’s parking lot on the north side on to SR 15 (North Detroit). When she pulled out on to the road, a vehicle driven by Dennis E. Bradley, 31, collided with the rear end of her vehicle at a high rate of speed, the accident report said.
A passenger in Bradley’s vehicle said that she told everyone in the car to look up at the clouds while going through the intersection on SR 15.
A witness to the accident was at the intersection of SR 15 and East Fort Wayne Street, he said that the wind from Bradley’s vehicle passing him nearly knocked him off his moped. He then said he heard the impact and saw that Wertenberger’s vehicle had caught some air while spinning after hitting a pole.
An officer with Warsaw Police was sitting at the stoplight on East Fort Wayne Street and saw Bradley’s vehicle cross the intersection at high speed. He then heard an impact, the report said.
Bradley was unable to provide proper insurance at the scene and was cited for operating a vehicle without financial responsibility. Bradley did not suffer any injuries and a passenger complained of pain but was not transported.
Wertenberger was taken to Parkview Warsaw for the injuries. Two passengers in her vehicle complained of various injuries but were not transported to a hospital.
The estimated damage cost of the accident is up to $50,000.
