House Fire In Mentone Under Investigation

MENTONE – A house fire that Wednesday night, July 29, is under investigation.
The fire broke out at a residence at 112485 W. CR 700S, Near CR 1300W, around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening. First responders quickly arrived at the scene and were able to put out the flames.
The fire had been burning on the backside of the home when firefighters arrived. Nobody was at the residence, which belongs to Charles Tucker, at the time of the fire, according to Fire Chief Mike Yaezel.
No injuries were reported from the scene. There is currently no information on what may have caused the fire.
Yazel said that the estimated damage to the home is around $25,000 to $35,000.
The Mentone Fire Department was joined by the Burket and Akron Fire Departments.
