Dianne R. Phillips
Dianne R. Phillips, 75, formerly of Columbia City, died at 5:15 a.m. Friday, July 31, 2020, at Peabody Retirement Home, where she had been a resident since May 2018.
Born in Rockford, Ill., on May 2, 1945, she was a daughter of the late Alex L. and M. Dorothy (O’Brien) Friedman. She graduated from South Side High School in Fort Wayne.
Dianne started her career as a teller at North American Phillips Credit Union and then became a self-employed early American antique dealer.
On Nov. 7, 1964, she was united in marriage to John G. Phillips III. They lived in Whitley County all their married life. John died on Feb. 1, 2018.
A skilled quilter, she gave many of her quilts to family, which are now cherished heirlooms.
An accomplished cook, she is remembered for her great meals.
She is survived by a daughter, Ruby A. Phillips of Columbia City; grandson, Trey Williamson; step-grandchildren, Austin, Tyler, and Miranda Brunner; and a sister, Sharron (Herman) Meyer of Phoenix Arizona.
Additionally, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Amy L. Brunner.
