Grace Continues On Path, Planning For Fall Calendar
Press Release
WINONA LAKE – On Tuesday night, the NAIA Council of Presidents announced the rescheduling of all fall 2020 championships to spring 2021.
As part of the NAIA’s decision, each conference retains the autonomy to decide when to play regular season competition. The Crossroads League’s Council of Presidents has made the decision to carry on with a fall season of competition after detailed discussion and planning.
Grace College has produced a lengthy return-to-play set of safety protocols, and the other league institutions are doing likewise. The small geographic footprint of the Crossroads League aided in the decision to play by the league.
The fall season for Grace’s sports teams has already seen several changes due to the pandemic, including: a decrease in number of games played, elimination of overnight trips and scheduling primarily league opponents to limit the threat of exposure to COVID-19.
The Crossroads League is committed to monitoring the situation daily. All options for competition will be continuously explored with health and safety as a priority.
Spectators at events this fall is a continued topic of discussion at the conference level. More details will be provided in the coming days.
