The Facebook event page explains “It’s time we #RISEUP for our children. 2020 has been a horrific year for our children. Reports of child abuse cases are MILLIONS higher this year than they were last year. Let’s set aside our differences and join forces for these vulnerable kids who are being abused and trafficked throughout the U.S. and around the world.”
“There may be no greater cause that will bring us closer together than fighting to end modern-day slavery. Join O.U.R (Operation Underground Railroad) on July 30th for #worlddayagainsthumantrafficking come walk with us at the Winona Lake Demonstration.”
The organizer, Mikayla Koontz, says that this is a family event and that if participants were not able to get one of their shirts in time to wear yellow or blue.
