Pierceton Days Will Be Friday, Saturday

PIERCETON — Pierceton Chamber of Commerce is hosting the annual Pierceton Days Festival Friday and Saturday, July 31 and Aug. 1, respectively.
This year’s theme is “Roaring ‘20s — Then and Now.”
There will be a car show, parade, hot‑air balloon rides, carnival and live entertainment at Brower Park, 105 E. Market St., Pierceton.
The festival opens Friday, July 31. Vendors open at 1 p.m. and bounce houses open at 3 p.m. Comedian Matt, a stand-up guy, will perform at 5 p.m. A car and truck show will start at 5 p.m. A petting zoo in the park begins at 6 p.m. A band called The Strays will perform classic rock and pop cover songs at 7 p.m.
The fun continues Saturday, Aug. 1. A vintage motorcycle show and swap begins at 8 a.m. and the vendors open at 9 a.m. A cornhole tournament, sponsored by the Pierceton Fire Department, will begin at 9 a.m. followed by comedian Matt, a stand-up guy, at 10 a.m.
Bounce houses open at 10 a.m. A petting zoo in the park is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. A caricature artist will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the activity tent.
An American Red Cross blood drive starts at 11 a.m. The blood drive is sponsored by Pierceton Masonic Lodge.
The water events and rides will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cutie contest winners will be announced at 12:45 p.m.
Comedian Matt, the stand-up guy, starts his show at 1 p.m. A parade begins at 3 p.m. followed by a petting zoo in the park from 4-6 p.m. The Brian Koser Band will perform a mix of country and 1990s rock at 4:30 p.m.
The Bar 13 beer and wine tent open at 5 p.m. “Pie an administrator” begins at 5:30 p.m. It involves the Pierceton Police and Fire departments, Dr. Brandon Pendrod and more.
The Tajmaholics, a blues and rock band, begins at 6 p.m. The Pierceton Fire Department will have a 50/50 raffle at 7:30 p.m. The band Highway 30 performs rock and country at 8 p.m. A fireworks show will begin at 10 p.m. at Brower Park.
Additionally, there will be the grand opening of the Whitko Art Museum and Galleries for Whitley and Kosciusko artists and the Arts-Artists-Galleries-Education-Studios Fine Art Center, at 130 N. First St., Pierceton. The open house will be all day Saturday, Aug. 1.
