Indiana State Trooper Gamaliel Reeves Promoted To Sergeant

ELKHART — Indiana State Police Superintendent Douglas G. Carter recently announced the promotion of Senior Trooper Gamaliel Reeves to the rank of sergeant.
Sergeant Reeves will serve as a squad sergeant at the Indiana State Police Toll Road Post, supervising a squad of troopers.
Reeves, an Elkhart County native, graduated from Elkhart Central High School in 1992. Reeves went on to attend Bethel College, earning a bachelor’s degree in education.
Reeves joined the Elkhart Police Department, serving nearly 12 years as a patrol officer, community relations officer, detective and a member of the Emergency Response Team before joining the Indiana State Police. Reeves graduated from the 69th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy in August 2008 where he was ranked first in his class. He was assigned to the Bremen district following graduation, where he was assigned patrol duties in St. Joseph County.
During his time assigned to the Bremen Post, Reeves spent time assigned to a DUI Task Force as well as the Methamphetamine Suppression Team. In 2010, Reeves was assigned to the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division, where he ensured commercial vehicles maintained compliance to be on the roads.
Reeves and his family live in Elkhart County.
