Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:
- 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 28, SR 19, Etna Green. Driver: Micah G. Hensley, 19, East CR 800N, Syracuse. Hensley said he was driving south on SR 19 and fell asleep. His vehicle went off the road and struck a tree. Hensley complained of right shoulder pain and was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital by ambulance. Damage up to $10,000.
Officers with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:
- 11:43 a.m. Saturday, July 25, CR 38, east of CR 35. Drivers: Troy Thornburg, 50, Syracuse; and Terrill Zimmerman, 30, Goshen. Zimmerman began driving a Farmall tractor and wagon across CR 38 in front of Thornburg’s Harley Davidson motorcycle. To avoid a collision, Thornburg put the motorcycle on its side and ran off the road into the ditch. Thornburg suffered hip pain and abrasions to the arms and was treated at the scene. Zimmerman was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
Officers with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:
- 4:42 p.m. Sunday, July 26, SR 25 and US 31. Drivers: Madeleine V. Waikel, 22, Milford; and David L. Szost, 57, Muskegon, Mich. Waikel’s vehicle went under Szost’s semitractor/trailer and was freed by the fire department using the JAWS.
