Helen M. Presson
Helen was born on March 29, 1936 in Etowah, Ark. to the late John and Ardella Gurtrue (Trucks) Johnson. She married Billy Gene Presson on June 13, 1953 in Corinth, Miss and he preceded her in death on July 31, 2001.
She was a homemaker and worked for Wen Products for 13 years. Helen attended Spring Creek Christian Church of Logansport, Indiana. She was a member of the Swingin Dudes and Darlings Square Dance Club and a lifetime member of the NRA. She enjoyed canning, crossword puzzles, and sewing. In the earlier years she enjoyed traveling with her family and camping trips.
She is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Nickell, Remington, Ind.; two sons, Jeffery and wife Lucy Presson, Puryear, Tenn., and Douglas and Robyn Presson, Rochester, Ind.; seven grandchildren, Shane, Joshua, and Angelyn Nickell, Jeremy and Tyler Presson, and Troy and Eric Ofinowicz; three great grandchildren Mason, Caleb, and Molly Nickell. She also has a brother Don Markcum, Lakeview, Mich.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Billy Gene Presson, 1 sister and 3 brothers, and companion Weldon “Pete” Conrad.
The funeral service will take place at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 30, at Hartzler Funeral Home 305 West Rochester Street Akron, with Pastor Jeffery Hayes officiating. For the health of all in attendance we encourage the public to wear masks.
Burial will take place following the service in the Athens Cemetery, Athens.
Visitation hours will be from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, July 29, at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron.
