Man In Carr Lake Car Incident Dies In Ohio
WOWO Radio
CELINA, OHIO – The man who drove his car into Carr Lake on July 15, apparently shot himself to death in Ohio two days later after two alleged robberies.
Raephael Dell, 22, of Cincinnati, was a suspect in a burglary-robbery in Fort Wayne that occurred Friday, July 17, in which a victim was shot. He was also a suspect in a second robbery in Van Wert County Ohio where someone trying to prevent him from escaping was dragged by his car as he fled.
The Mercer County Ohio Sheriff’s Office said that officers were able to locate Dell after pinging his cell phone.
At 5:06 p.m. Friday, Dell was spotted on the side of US Route 33 in Mercer County putting gas into his car on the side of the road. When an officer approached, police say Dell got back into his car and shot himself in the head.
The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the incident.
Dell was arrested in Kosciusko County earlier in the week for possession of marijuana/hash oil/hashish after he apparently let his vehicle roll into Carr Lake and sink. Police were summoned to the scene and found him in possession of a large amount of marijuana.
