Marcus ‘Mark’ Kosins Sr.
Marcus “Mark” Kosins Sr., age 85, of Oak Hill, Fla., and formerly of Warsaw, passed away peacefully in his home, Friday, July 3, 2020.
He was born Jan. 17, 1935, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Edward and Helen Kosins. He graduated from Warsaw High School in 1954 and International Business College in 1960.
He was the oldest of five boys and lived in Warsaw most of his adult life. He met and married Mary Ramsey on June 30, 1956. They were married for 38 years until Mary passed away on Oct. 10, 1994. Together, they owned and operated Ramsey News Company and Readmore Books in Warsaw and Huntington until the business was sold in 1992.
Mark was an Air Force veteran serving in the Korean War until his honorable discharge on Dec. 31, 1960. He proudly wore his veteran’s hat for all to see. He also was an active member of the Elks Lodge for over 50 years.
Mark is survived by his children, Marcus Kosins Jr., of Tokyo, Japan; Kevin Kosins, Oak Hill, Fla.; Eric (Bobbi) Kosins, of Warsaw; Scott (Melanie) Kosins, of Winona Lake; son-in-law, Gene Pierce, of Alexandria, Va. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by three brothers: Robert Kosins, of Ohio; Gary Kosins, Florida; and Bruce Kosins, of Georgia.
He was preceeded in death by his two daughters, Elizabeth Kosins and Jennifer Kosins Pierce. He was also preceeded in death by his parents and brother, Ross Kosins.
He delighted in his children and adored his grandchildren. He was always willing to lend his hand and support.
Per Mark’s request, he will be cremated and ashes scattered with his children present. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
