Leona C. Oliba
Leona C. Oliba, 83, Macy, passed away at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, July 2, 2020, at her residence.
She was born on Dec. 13, 1936, in Blue Island, Ill., the daughter of Harry Anton and Gladys (Bell) Walters. On Nov. 18, 1961, in Chicago, Ill., she married Angel Oliba and he survives.
Leona had been telephone operator for Illinois Bell in Harvey, Ill. and retired from Acument Global Technologies in Rochester. She had been a member of the Women of Moose Lodge, enjoyed flowers, birds, gardening, fishing, horses, antiquing, vacationing and being a dedicated friend and mother to her four daughters.
Survivors include her husband, Angel Oliba, Macy, daughters, Shawn (Ronald) Bryant, Rochester, Angie (Jim) McAlister-Strong, Macy, Rena Oliba, Mexico, Trisha Oliba, Denver, grandchildren, Zach Troyer, Mexico, Cameron McAlister, Lexington, Ky., Julia McAlister, Kokomo, Katie Glasgow, Bedford, Jennifer Addison, Kokomo, Cherie Weir, Russiaville, nine great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, sister, Betty Walters-Quier, Peru. She was preceded in death by her parents and son-in-law, Jay McAlister.
