Stephen D. Shively
Stephen D. Shively, 74, of Etna Green, passed away on June 30, 2020, at 12:37 p.m. at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Steve was born the son of Wayne and Arlene (Wysong) Shively on July 12, 1945, in Etna Green, and was a life-long resident of the area. He was a 1963 graduate of Bourbon High School.
One thing Steve was very proud of was being a member of the 1963 Bourbon Comets basketball team when they won the sectional title. On July 16, 1988, he married the love of his life, Patricia Huffman. Steve retired from R. R. Donnelley, after working there for 37½ years. He also trained harness horses for over 25 years, worked with Daryl Ball Auctions as part of the set-up crew, and drove motorhomes for Newmar Homes. During his free time, Steve enjoyed fishing, horses, woodworking, and spending time in his woods. Steve and Pat also enjoyed traveling to new places and visiting friends. They made many trips to Canada, explored out West, and even enjoyed an Alaskan cruise. Steve enjoyed being an Indiana snowbird and spent the last 14 winters in Sebring, Fla. As you can imagine, during that time Steve made many lifelong friends who will miss him greatly. Steve attended the Etna Green Church of Christ.
Survivors who will miss Steve include his loving wife, daughters Kimberli Shively-Augustine, Bourbon, Jen Adams, Nappanee; sons, Kurt (Shawna) Shively, Etna Green, and Brian (Sarah) Adams, Etna Green; Grandchildren, Devin (Lindsay) Shively, Bethany (Aaron) Agostino, Nicholas Shively, Josh Hall, Kassidy Hall, Allie Adams, Ayva Adams, Cadence Shepherd and Abby Adams; great-grandchildren, Ian and Owen; sister-in-law, Wanda Shively, several nieces and nephews.
