Community Foundation Awards Grant to Grace Village
News Release
WINONA LAKE – Grace Village Retirement Community is pleased to announce it has received an $8,000 grant from the Kosciusko County Community Foundation’s Community Funds Grants, a competitive grant process aimed at supporting local nonprofit organizations.
Their Board of Directors has awarded this grant to support the Grace Village COVID-19 Employee Assistance Program.
The employee assistance program was created to support employees with needs that have arisen due to the current pandemic including childcare costs, training, and personal protective equipment. The already stretched nursing and dietary staff are having to take on new and different roles to meet the care, safety, and dietary guidelines established to deal with the pandemic.
Nursing staff have new safety protocols to follow. These funds have enabled nine existing employees to be cross-trained and certified as personal care-dietary assistants to assist the nursing staff. Twenty students have completed the CNA training program offered through Grace Village.
The Board of Grace Village wishes to thank the Kosciusko County Community Foundation for their quick response to the changing needs of this community. Their generosity has helped lessen the impact of these changes on the lives of the 400 residents that call Grace Village home.
The Kosciusko County Community Foundation is a public foundation established in 1968. Their mission is to bring caring people and charitable endeavors together for the good of our community.
