Police Investigating Fatal Nappanee Shooting

NAPPANEE — A LaPaz man was found dead of an apparent gunshot wound early Saturday, June 6, at Meadows Mobile Home Park, Nappanee.
The Elkhart County Homicide Unit is investigating the case and is asking anyone with information to contact officials with the unit at (574) 295-2825 or (574) 296-1888.
According to a release from the Elkhart County Prosecutor’s Office, Nappanee Police were called to 170 Meadows Mobile Home Park at 12:16 a.m. Saturday in regards to a shooting. When officers arrived they found Thomas Campion, 45, LaPaz, dead. A second victim, a 29-year-old from Nappanee, was transported from the scene to Elkhart General with non-life-threatening injuries. He was treated and released.
Officers secured the scene and contacted the homicide unit. A forensic autopsy was performed at the Homer Stryker School of Medicine at Western Michigan University. The autopsy determined Campion died of multiple gunshot wounds.
No arrests were made and the shooting is considered an on-going investigation.
