WARSAW — A Warsaw woman was recently arrested after hitting two men and kicking three law enforcement officers.
Dollie Korinne Bumgardner, 22, 1692 E. CR 200N Lot 98, Warsaw, is charged with three counts of battery to a law enforcement officer, all level 6 felonies; resisting law enforcement, a class A misdemeanor; and disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor.
On June 3, a Warsaw Police officer went to an undisclosed location regarding a battery report. Upon arrival, officers spoke with two men who said a woman, later identified as Bumgardner, became involved in a verbal argument with them. During the argument, Bumgardner punched one of the men in the chin and hit the other man in the head. According to court documents, one of the men called law enforcement. Bumgardner then allegedly took the man’s cellphone and threw it to the ground, breaking it into pieces. Both men said they did not want charges pressed but wanted her to leave.
Officers then spoke with Bumgardner. During the conversation, Bumgardner was yelling and cursing. Officers gave multiple orders for Bumgardner to stop causing excessive noise given they were in a public area. Since Bumgardner persisted and continued being disruptive, officers told Bumgardner she was under arrest for disorderly conduct.
As officers attempted to put handcuffs on Bumgardner, she resisted arrest by pulling away from the officers. She then allegedly attempted to kick one of the officers. Officers were eventually able to get Bumgardner in handcuffs and began attempting to place her into a vehicle to take her to the Kosciusko County Jail. While continuing to resist arrest, Bumgardner kicked one of the Warsaw officers in the thigh.
Bumgardner continued by kicking and hitting her head on the vehicle’s cage. It was determined she would have to be moved to another vehicle with a single-person cage. Officers began transferring Bumgardner to another police vehicle.
While still physically resisting arrest, Bumgardner kicked a second Warsaw officer in the stomach and thigh. She also kicked a Winona Lake Police officer in the thigh.
Bumgardner was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on June 3, with a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
