SYRACUSE – The Lakeland Youth Center in Syracuse is planning for a busy summer of activities for kids of all ages.
A tennis summer camp is set for July 6-9 for kids in grades K-6th (upcoming). Cost is $60 and players are asked to bring their own racquet, but tennis balls will be provided. The camp will be taught by USTPA professional trainer Shane Staley.
Summer soccer is set to begin on July 11 for kids in preschool through 8th grade. The season is set to run through Aug. 1. Games and practices will be played at Wawasee Middle School.
A Summer Education Craft Camp starts June 16, which fuses book reading and crafts into one by preschool teacher Kellie Newcomer and kindergarten teacher Jenna Mock. Crafts, activities and games will revolve around a book for each class. Classes are on Tuesdays and Thursdays and wrap up July 30.
LYC is also looking to create a summer golf program. Details on the golf program will be made available on the LYC web site when final plans are completed.
LYC is offering scholarships for those in need to ensure no child is turned away because of an inability to pay. Contact the LYC at (574) 457-3055 for more information on scholarships.
Registration and more information for any of the summer activities with the LYC can be done at lakelandyouthcenter.com.
