Stillson Already Lighting Up Leaderboards
FORT WAYNE – The 2020 golf season is already in full swing for NorthWood junior Cybil Stillson.
Stillson shot an impressive three-over 75 to run away with her age group leaderboard at Monday’s Hurricane Junior Golf Tour stop at Autumn Ridge in Fort Wayne.
The Spring One Day event had nine golfers in Stillson’s 14-18 age group, aptly named after the famous golfer Justin Timberlake. Stillson wasn’t directly challenged as she peppered the course on Fort Wayne’s northeast side. Runner-up Madison Keil of LaGrange was seven shots back with her 82.
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour caters to both boys and girls youth golfers up to 18 years of age. While mostly comprised of golfers from the Fort Wayne area, Monday’s tournament had entrants from around northern Indiana as well as from Michigan, Ohio and Illinois.
The Tour has two girls divisions, the Timberlake as well as the Justin Rose division for U-13. There are four boys divisions: U-10 Bryson DeChambeau; 11-13 Ernie Els; 14-15 Will Smith; and 16-18 Tiger Woods.
Tournament leaders for Monday include Ava Bunker of Franklin with a 75 in the Rose Division, Vladimir Parker of Dublin, Ohio, with a 74 in the DeChambeau Division. Brayden Miller of Goshen with a 71 in the Els Division, Charleston Olson of Fort Wayne with an 80 in the Smith Division, and Isaac Rorick of Leo with a 73 in the Woods Division.
