Two Opportunities For Free Meals Today In Syracuse

SYRACUSE — Syracuse Strong continues with two free meal distributions today, Saturday, May 16.
Vineyard Community Church, 7566 E. 1000N, Syracuse, next to Wawasee Middle School, will be giving away 250 free pizzas from the Down Under bar and restaurant along with a free time capsule activity for families beginning at noon Saturday, May 16. This will feed approximately 1,000 people.
The food is being provided by Down Under, as well as Friends of the Down Under and Vineyard Community Church.
“Our goal is to bless children and families with a free meal and a family activity,” said Derek Coy, pastor of generations and outreach at Vineyard.
Syracuse Fraternal Order of Eagles 3760 is serving another free meal giveaway Saturday, May 16.
Starting at 2 p.m., the Eagles will be giving away 500 BBQ pulled pork sandwich dinners, including cole slaw, baked beans and chips.
While meals are free, they will also be accepting donations of canned goods. The goal is to fill a pickup truck with canned goods. Monetary donations are also appreciated.
All canned good and monetary donations will go to the Milford Food Pantry.
