United Way Of Kosciusko County Receives $450,000 For COVID Response
Press Release
WARSAW — United Way of Kosciusko County announced that it has been approved to receive a $450,000 COVID-19 Economic Relief Initiative Grant, made possible through a partnership between Lilly Endowment, Inc. and Indiana United Ways.
These funds will be used to boost the local COVID-19 pandemic response efforts.
“United Way of Kosciusko County has been a convener and coordinator of our community’s response to meet human needs for decades. Even before this crisis, we knew that 28% of the families in Kosciusko County were not able to make ends meet – despite working. Without a robust response from our community, those needs are bound to become even more dire. Thanks to generous support from the Lilly Endowment, Inc., we are now strongly positioned to help our community deal with the impact of Covid-19,” said Darren Bickel, president of the United Way of Kosciusko County.
The COVID-19 Economic Relief Initiative Grant calls for United Way agencies that receive funding to leverage partnerships and relationships to better meet Covid-19 related-needs, which may include emergency response, as well as recovery efforts. As United Way of Kosciusko County finalizes the local approach, details will be shared via its website – www.unitedwaykosciusko.org – over the coming weeks.
