Officers with the Claypool Police Department investigated the following accident:
12:15 a.m. Saturday, May 2, SR 15, south of CR 800S, Claypool. Driver: Justin M. Lasser, Lasser’s vehicle struck a deer. Damage up to $5,000.
Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
9:39 p.m. Sunday, May 3, West CR 1050N, east of North CR 1000W, Nappanee. Driver: Glen E. Helmuth, 66, West CR 450N, Etna Green. Helmuth was driving east on West CR 1050N when a horse-drawn carriage that was traveling west crossed over and entered Helmuth’s lane of travel, resulting in a collision. Damage up to $5,000.
12:24 a.m. Sunday, May 3, SR 13, Pierceton. Driver: Zachary M. Gowen, 19, 4th Street, North Manchester. Gowen’s vehicle struck a deer. Damage up to $5,000.
6:48 p.m. Saturday, May 2, North CR 800W, north of West CR 300N, Warsaw. Driver: William M. Ingle, 20, North Street, Milford. Ingle was driving north on North CR 800W when his vehicle left the east side of the road. Ingle overcorrected and the vehicle crossed into the southbound lane and went off the west side of the road and landed on its side in a ditch. A passenger in Ingle’s vehicle, Brookelyn Berndt, 18, Yoder Drive, Goshen, reported minor injuries to her right shin and right hand. Both Ingle and Yoder refused medical attention. Damage up to $10,000.
2:42 p.m. Saturday, May 2, SR 13, south of East CR 1250S, North Manchester. Drivers: Cody A. Miller, 28, SR 13, North Manchester; and Stanley R. Robison, 66, North CR 250W, Roann. Miller’s vehicle was being pulled by another vehicle with a tow strap. Miller said the vehicle that was pulling him began to slow down to turn in to a private drive, but he could not stop in time. His vehicle swerved to the left and went left of center, sideswiping Robison’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
5:55 a.m. Saturday, May 2, US 30 and North CR 200W, Warsaw. Driver: Ronnie A. Kohn, 51, Simon Road, Huntertown. Kohn’s vehicle struck a deer. Damage up to $5,000.
10:51 p.m. Friday, May 1, SR 25, Mentone. Driver: Scott A. Shirey, 38, Thayer Street, Bourbon. Shirey’s vehicle left the roadway, causing damage to the property located at 9158 West SR 25. Damage up to $2,500.
8:39 p.m. Friday, May 1, SR 13 and EMS B7 Lane, Leesburg. Driver: Eric T. Stutzman, 53, CR 44, Millersburg. Stutzman’s vehicle struck a deer. Damage up to $5,000.
2:19 p.m. Friday, May 1, SR 15, south of West CR 600N, Leesburg. Drivers: Odair Ortiz Sanchez, 20, US Highway 6, New Paris; and Canton L. Stephens, 62, SR 19, Mentone. Sanchez’s vehicle rear-ended Stephens’ vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
9:25 a.m. Friday, May 1, East CR 450N, north of N175E, Warsaw. Drivers: Fay A. Iden, 82, 1st Trail, North Webster; and James A. Walters, 64, Mariposa Drive, Syracuse. The vehicles collided at the intersection of East CR 450N. Damage up to $10,000.
9:30 a.m. Thursday, April 30, Armstrong Road, east of North CR 200E, Leesburg. Driver: Logan R. Selders, 19, Old Road 30, Warsaw. Selders’ vehicle went off the road and into a ditch. Selders said the vehicle rolled three times before coming to rest on its top in a field. Damage up to $25,000.
7:22 a.m. Thursday, April 30, East US 30, Warsaw. Driver: Julie A. Decker, 38, Wooster Road, Pierceton. Decker’s vehicle struck a light pole in a car lot. Damage up to $2,500.
4:34 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, East CR 700S, east of CR 300E, Warsaw. Driver: Sarah J. Kenney, 48, East CR 725S, Warsaw. Kenney said she must have fallen asleep at the wheel. Her vehicle went off the east side of the road and struck two trees. Damage up to $25,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
7:21 p.m. Monday, May 4, US 30 and North Parker Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Sandra D. Lee, 56, Pondrom Street, Dallas, Texas; and Kimberly J. Harshman, 59, Dale Lane, Claypool. Lee’s vehicle rear-ended Harshman’s vehicle. Harshman complained of left shoulder pain but refused treatment on scene. Damage up to $25,000.
11:22 a.m. Monday, May 4, Center Street, Warsaw. Driver: David W. Neff, 58, Market Street, Warsaw. Neff’s vehicle struck a parked, unoccupied vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
