Wabash County Reports Second Virus Death; Kosciusko County Case Count Up By Two

WABASH — The Wabash County Health Department reported the county’s second death related to the COVID-19 virus on Sunday, May 3. Wabash County has 63 positive cases.
The Kosciusko County Health Department recently reported two new COVID-19 cases over the weekend. One new case was received on Saturday, May 2; the other new case was received as of noon Monday, May 4. This brings Kosciusko County to a total of 38 positive cases with one death. According to the KCHD, 19 cases have recovered.
Statewide, the latest posting on the Indiana State Department of Health website shows the number of COVID-19 deaths in Indiana rose to 1,151, up from 1,115 reported on Saturday, May 2.
The total positive number of cases statewide is at 20,507. More than 113,000 Hoosiers have been tested for COVID-19.
Locally, Marshall County has 31 positive cases, Fulton County has 33 positive cases, Noble County has 86 positive cases, and Elkhart County has 321 positive cases.
Whitley County’s case number remains unchanged at 21.
Cass County, which is south of Fulton County and includes Logansport, has 1,371 positive cases. In other northern Indiana counties, Lake County has 2,098 positive cases; St. Joseph County has 668 positive cases; and Allen County has 664 positive cases.
Marion County, which includes Indianapolis, has the most cases in the state at 6,327.
According to Johns Hopkins University of Medicine, more than 180,000 people in the United States have recovered from COVID-19.
