Stephen “Steve” David McGlothin
Stephen “Steve” David McGlothin, Winona Lake, went home to be with the Lord at 8:30 a.m. Monday, May 4, 2020, at Mason Health and Rehabilitation in Warsaw, at the age of 76.
He was born on Feb. 1, 1944, in Pontiac, Mich., to Mildred (Maxwell) McGlothin and George Clifford McGlothin. On Aug. 16, 1969, he was married to Nancy Marie (Wootton) McGlothin. They shared 48 years of marriage together before she passed away on Jan. 11, 2018.
He was a 1962 graduate of Pontiac Central High School. He then attended Detroit Bible College graduating in 1969, then came to Grace College and Seminary in Winona Lake and earned his Masters of Divinity degree in 1974. He was a resident of Kosciusko County for the past 50 years, where he and his late wife owned and operated Grace Janitorial Services in Warsaw until his retirement due to ill health. He was a member of Pleasant View Bible Church in Warsaw for over 35 years, where he enjoyed fellowship with his church family and being involved in small groups.
He served in the Army Reserves, was a 40 plus year member of the Morning Optimist Club, and sang with the Optimist Singers. He was a loving and wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and brother and will be dearly missed by his friends, family and especially his grandchildren.
He will be lovingly remembered by two sons: Shannon (wife Chanda Evans) McGlothin, Portland, Ore.; Jonathan (wife Vida Sacic) McGlothin, Chicago, Ill.; and his daughter: Dawn McGlothin, Winona Lake, Indiana. He also leaves behind two grandchildren: Henry and Maxwell; a sister: Barbara McGlothin, Waterford, Mich.; and a brother-in-law: Daniel (Nancy) Wootton, Spartanburg, S.C. He was preceded in death by his precious and beloved wife: Nancy Marie McGlothin; his parents; and an infant son: Kyle, at birth.
The family will have a celebration of Steve’s life with a private graveside service that will take place at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw in May 2020. Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
