SYRACUSE — The Syracuse community is continuing its support of those being affected by the coronavirus with more meal distributions this weekend and next week. Those in need will have an opportunity to get breakfast, lunch or dinner.
There is even an opportunity to enjoy movie theater popcorn for a fee.
Vineyard Community Church and local friends will give out 500 meals starting at noon, Saturday, April 25. The meal, prepared by The Down Under Bar and Restaurant, will include chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans and a dinner roll. Curbside pickup is available at the church, located at 7566 E. 1000N, Syracuse.
Syracuse Eagles Aerie 3760, 12889 N. Kern Road, Syracuse, will be giving away 200 char-grilled chicken dinners starting at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 25. The dinners consist of a half chicken, coleslaw and baked beans.
Persons will have another opportunity starting at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 26, when The Sleepy Owl and donors will again give back to the community. The meal will include pulled pork, baked beans and coleslaw. The free curbside meal will be available to the first 175 people. The Sleepy Owl is located at 11374 N. SR 13, Syracuse.
A free pancake and sausage breakfast will be available Sunday, April 26, at Syracuse Cafe, 607 N. Huntington St., Syracuse, starting at 8:30 a.m. The meals will be available via curb side pick up and available until supplies run out. An estimated 160 plus meals are being prepared. The breakfast is being made possible by the sponsors: Re/Max Parters, Dynamic Spine, the Goralczyk Family, Delucenay Family and Jack Conley.
End out the day with a snack of plain or buttered popcorn from Pickwick Theatre, 108 W. Main St., Syracuse. curbside sales of plain or buttered popcorn for $5 will be available from 3-6 p.m. Sunday, April 26. This will be cash and carry only.
There will be 600 meals given away starting at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, at The Channel Marker, 5793 E. Pickwick Road, Syracuse. A group of generous residents donated enough funds in partnership with The Channel Marker to provide 600 meals. The menu will include island grilled chicken, smashed red potatoes, salad with dressing, dinner roll and butter.
