Billie Blocher
Billie G. Blocher, 84, North Manchester, passed away at 9:15 p.m. Wednesday, April 22.
He was born Feb. 7, 1936 in Wabash County to S. Willis and Leila E. (Baker) Blocher.
On Sept. 21, 1957, he married Esther L. Metzger. She passed away Nov. 5, 2017.
Billie was a lifelong farmer. Billie enjoyed gardening, mushroom hunting and cutting fire wood. For all his life, Billie never lived more than a mile from where he was born.
Survivors include sons: Larry J. (Loretta) Blocher, North Manchester, Loren E. (Brenda) Blocher, Akron, and Lynn A. (Wendy) Blocher, North Manchester; daughters: Lorraine K. (Marlin) Spurrier, North Manchester, Louise J. (David) Nordmann, North Manchester, and Leisa J. (Kris) Kerlin, Silver Lake; brothers: Joe (Bonnie) Blocher, North Manchester, Max (Sandra) Blocher, North Manchester, Marvin (Taffy) Blocher, North Manchester; a sister, Ruthie E. (David) Brubaker, Pasco, Wash.; 16 grandchildren and six step-grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and 18 step-great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Lowell Blocher, in 1968, a brother, Robert E. Blocher and a great-grandchild.
Friends and family may call Sunday, April 26, 2020 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 26, at the Old German Baptist Brethren Cemetery, 12546 North State Road 13, North Manchester, Indiana. Larry Cripe and Richard Brovont will officiate.
