WARSAW — Wildman Business Group, a linen supply business located in Warsaw, recently laid off 48 employees due to the pandemic.
The layoffs are expected to be temporary.
The company notified the Indiana Department of Workforce Development regarding the layoffs. A letter written by Audrey Russell, director of human resources at Wildman Business Group, points to coronavirus for the layoffs.
“There are numerous government and health directives impacting our business,” said Russell in the letter. “The speed and vast impact of COVID-19 has been unprecedented. After reviewing our staffing and business needs, we are providing this notice at the earliest possible time.”
The layoffs at Wildman Business Group occurred from April 6 to 13.
Russell’s letter was submitted to the Indiana DWD on Friday, April 10, and includes an apology for not providing more advance notice of the action.
