Christena M. Wixson

Christena M. Wixson, 89, Goshen, died at 10:22 a.m. Monday, April 13, 2020, at the home of her daughter.

She was born Oct. 28, 1930, in Goshen, to Lawrence “Jim” & Carrie (Nisley) Musselman. On Dec. 4, 1948, at Millersburg Evangelical Church, she married Keith L. Wixson and he died Jan. 23, 2019.

Surviving are daughters: Tresa (John) Gazarkiewicz, Benton; Candace “Candi” Spencer, Benton; sons: Keith E. (Becky) Wixson, Dunlap; and Jeffrey S. Wixson, New Paris; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sisters: Connie Tredway, Bristol; and Karen (Lonnie) Ward, Elkhart.

Preceding her in death are her parents; husband; sons: Randal L. and Paul L. Wixson; and a son-in-law: John Spencer.

She was a 1948 graduate of Millersburg High School. She retired from the Elkhart County Auditor’s Office in 1999 after 26 years. She was a member of Solomon Creek United Methodist Church, Solomon Creek Ladies Aid; VFW Auxiliary and the Bashor Children’s Home Auxiliary.

Private family services will be held. Pastor Glenda Woodcox will officiate and burial will be in Benton Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to Goshen Home Care & Hospice or Solomon Creek United Methodist Church.
