John F. Bogold, 88, rural Claypool, Beaver Dam Lake, passed at 4:32 p.m., Tuesday, April 7, 2020, at his residence.
John was born on Sept. 28, 1931, in Buffalo, N.Y. to the late George Joseph and Violet (Kunz) Bogold. He married on Jan. 26, 1952, in Orchard Park, New York to Annette Bapst, she survives.
John retired after 42 years from Bethlehem Steel in Porte. He also served as a police officer in earlier years in Silver Creek, New York. He was a graduate of Burgard Vocational High School of Buffalo, New York. He served his country in the U.S. Army as a part of the National Guard.
He was a member of the Beaver Dam United Methodist Church. John was also a member of the Moose and a Mason. He served as Exalted Ruler and was honored for his outstanding work as a part of the Hobart Elks Lodge and later became an active member of the Rochester Lodge. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and traveling.
