Stephen D. Ford
Stephen D. Ford, 73, rural Wabash, died at 8:16 a.m. Thursday, April 2, 2020, at Parkview Wabash Hospital.
He was born Dec. 6, 1946, in Peru, to Basil Floyd and Marjorie B. (Trice) Ford.
He was a 1964 graduate of Northfield High School and received his Bachelors degree in Agricultural Economics from Purdue University in 1968. He married Deborah Proctor at the pavillion at the Salamonie Reservoir in Wabash County on Sept. 24, 1988. He was an insurance agent at Beauchamp & McSpadden Insurance Agency for more than 15 years. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and attended Wabash First United Methodist Church in Wabash. He was a former member and past president of the Lagro Lions Club and former member of the Wabash Rotary Club. He enjoyed farming, eating and spending time with his grandkids.
He is survived by his wife: Deborah Ford, Wabash; three children: Joseph (Paula) Ford, Timberville, Va.; Dawn (Michael) McKown, Harrisburg, Neb.; and Wes (Daphne Holycross) Banks, Roann; five grandchildren: Suzanne Ford, Sharon Ford, and Stephen Ford, all of Timberville; Mike McKown, Omaha, Neb.; and Megan Banks, Peru; sisters and a brother: Elaine Widdifield, Fort Wayne; Keith (Pam) Ford, Wabash; Denise Sheetz, Warsaw; and Rhonda (Dan) Carr, Wabash; and a sister-in-law: Tilly Ford, Roann.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother: Brian Lee Ford.
There will be a memorial service at the First United Methodist Church in Wabash at a later date.
Preferred memorial is Roann Lions Club.
