Harmon C. Hughes, 92, New Paris, died Friday, March 27, 2020, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Syracuse.
He was born Oct. 23, 1927, in Three Rivers, Mich., to Curtis and Ruth (Bevvins) Hughes.
On Feb. 5, 1977, he married Phyllis (Condon) Holtman.
She survives along with three children: Spring Hughes, New Paris; Dennis Hughes, Maryland; and Robyn Hughes, Iowa; three grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter: Kathleen (Hughes) Dyer.
Hughes was a long-time night assistant at Greencroft Central Manor, now known as Evergreen Place. He enjoyed watching sports and was an avid University of Michigan fan. He also enjoyed playing slot machines at casinos and spending time with family.
According to Harmon’s wishes, cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory, Goshen.
