Edna M. Lawson
Edna M. Lawson, 87, Leesburg, passed away at 8:16 p.m. on Sunday, March 29, 2020, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born on March 24, 1933 in Elkhart, to Orville and Effie E. Hill) Wagner.
She grew up in Elkhart and attended East Side & Roosevelt Schools in Elkhart. She was married on Oct. 11, 1952, in Leesburg, to Rex Eugene Lawson who preceded her on Sept. 20, 1994, and lived most of her life in the North Webster / Leesburg area. She was a homemaker and retired on Oct. 31, 1987, after nearly 34 years as a knitter at Jomac in Warsaw.
She was a member of the Church of the Brethren in North Webster, Lakeland Kiwanis in North Webster, and Rho Chapter Gamma Nu in Warsaw. She was a former member of the Barbee Lakes Property Owners, Barbee Lakes Conservation Club, Hoosier Conservation Club, Tippecanoe Township Homemakers Extension in North Webster, and Women of the Moose #921 in Warsaw.
She is survived by her son, Mark Steven (Rona) Lawson, Leesburg; grandson, Scott Lawson, Leesburg; great-grandson, Colton Lawson; brother, Paul L. (Sally) Wagner, Elkhart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son – David Gene Lawson, sister – Betty Stander, and brother – Arthur Wagner.
**Due to the current, unprecedented guidelines limiting public gatherings because of the COVID-19 virus, there will be a private family visitation and graveside service at North Webster Cemetery with Pastor Bob Wyman officiating.
