Martha Cox
Martha M. Cox, 80, of rural Akron, passed at 7:22 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2020, at her residence.
Martha was born on Feb. 23, 1940, to the late Clifton and Mildred (Ralston) Ooley in Bourbon.
She married on Nov. 27, 1957, in Plymouth, to Floyd Cox. He survives.
She had been a lifetime cook and enjoyed her time working for Tippecanoe Valley High School, The Freezer Fresh and Murphy’s Medical Center as well as being a homemaker for her family.
She attended school in Bourbon. She always enjoyed cooking, especially pies. She worked with her husband on the farm and enjoyed driving red tractors.
She is survived by daughters: Wanetta Estep, Mentone, Kim Marshall, Mentone; sons: Devon and wife Karen Cox, Wakarusa, Cliff and wife Nancy Cox, Rochester; grandchildren: Rachel and husband Justin Stambaugh, Kritstie Estep, Anna Marshall, Scott and husband Shawn Smith, Tangula and husband Alan Crawford, Dusty and wife Lynndy Cox, Ashley and husband Rob Reddington, Shane and wife Lisa Cox, Ben and wife Brittany Coldiron, Cody Cox, Samantha and husband J.R. Carmickle, Cynthia and husband Joey Archambeault, and Mark Johnson; 29 Great Grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Ann and husband Jim Baker, Goshen; and a brother, Leroy and wife Alice Ooley, Warsaw.
she was preceded in death by her parents, Clifton and Mildred Ooley; son-in-laws: Frank P. Estep and Mark A. Marshall; a great grandson; and siblings: Rodge Ooley, Carl Ooley, and Loise Williams
Following county, state, federal and CDC guidelines, private family services will be held at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron, Indiana. A memorial service will take place at a later date.
The interment will take place in the Mentone Cemetery, Mentone, Indiana.
