Area Accident Reports
Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
3:35 a.m. Friday, March 27, North SR 15, north of West CR 800N, Leesburg. Driver: Scott D. Stine, 46, West Beachwood Avenue, Warsaw. Stine was traveling north on SR 15 when three donkeys entered the roadway. One of the donkeys was struck and killed by Stine’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
7:33 p.m. Thursday, March 26, West CR 1150N, east of North CR 700W, Nappanee. Driver: William J. Dickson, 49, North CR 425W, Milford. Dickson was traveling east on a moped when his vehicle left the roadway. Dickson sustained injuries to his right ankle, left knee and upper lip and was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital for treatment. Damage up to $2,500.
12:35 p.m. Monday, March 23, West US 30, near North CR 800W, Atwood. Drivers: Michael L. Dorgan, 56, Bowker Drive, Lansing, Mich.; and Robert J. Rainwater, 47, South Avenue A., Athens, Mich. Dorgan was turning east onto US 30 from CR 800W when he entered Rainwater’s lane of travel. This caused Rainwater’s vehicle to leave the roadway and overturn. Damage up to $10,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
6:15 p.m. Thursday, March 26, Commerce Drive, south of East Lake City Highway, Warsaw. Driver: Ariel L. Osbun, 20, North SR 19, Etna Green. Osbun was traveling west when her vehicle left the roadway, striking a curb and cement pole. A small electrical box on top of the cement pole support sustained damage. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $10,000.
6:55 a.m. Thursday, March 26, North Biomet Drive, near East Bell Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Salvador M. Menchaca, 38, South CR 175W, Warsaw; and Jesus R. Veneracion, 58, Cambridge Drive, Warsaw. Menchaca was traveling north on North Biomet Drive when he backed his vehicle for a semi that was attempting to turn. As he did so, Menchaca’s vehicle backed into Veneration’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
