WARSAW — A man faces charges in connection with an alleged drug deal and shooting from October 2019.
Alexander T. Clowser, 18, 2714 Enfield CV, Fort Wayne, was arrested on a warrant and charged with dealing in marijuana in an amount in excess of 30 grams, a level 6 felony; possession of marijuana, a class B misdemeanor; and possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor.
On Oct. 8, 2019, Warsaw Police went to a residence regarding a report of shots fired. While heading to the scene, the officer learned that Naquan Rasheed Williams, 17, Warsaw, was being taken to Parkview Hospital with a gunshot wound.
Police saw a juvenile at the scene and searched him and found a large plastic bag of marijuana. The juvenile told the officer that Clowser had been shot and he was worried that Adams was hurt as well.
According to court documents, the officer found Clowser, who said he had been shot in the right triceps area by Russell Keigan Harty, 18, Claypool. The officer saw a small red mark where it appeared a bullet had glanced the inside of Clowser’s triceps.
Clowser said he was at the scene with the juvenile, Adams and Gerig to meet with Harty in order to sell him two ounces of marijuana. They met with Harty and Williams when Harty pulled out a handgun and attempted to rob the four. While attempting to flee the scene, Harty fired three rounds from the handgun. One of the rounds struck Williams in the shoulder and chest, and a second-round grazed Clowser in the tricep.
Through interviews, police learned they were meeting with Harty to sell him two ounces of marijuana and that Harty and Williams attempted to rob them.
Officers then searched the vehicle that the juvenile, Clowser, Gerig and Adams had arrived in. Officers found two plastic containers containing marijuana, three smoking devices and $211 in cash. The marijuana weighed more than 30 grams.
