WINONA LAKE — The Town of Winona Lake announced changes in trash pickup amidst the virus pandemic.
Advanced Disposal is the company that the Town of Winona Lake contracts with for trash and recycling services. Starting Monday, March 23, Advanced Disposal will be implementing some changes to the residential trash/recycling services due to the public health emergency caused by the Coronavirus outbreak, said a news release from the Town of Winona Lake.
Only trash and recycling contained in their respective Advanced Disposal containers will be picked up per the regular schedule (trash – every week; recycling – every other week). Bulk item pick-up on the off-recycle week will be suspended until further notice. Additional trash (bagged or not) outside of the trash container will not be picked up (even in the blue bags or bags with the green bag tags purchased in our office).
The town appreciates residents’ support and understanding. Everyone is working diligently to prevent exposure during this pandemic. Advanced Disposal’s number one commitment is the safety of its employees, customers and the communities they serve, said the news release.
