Pauline Ruth Hollamby
Pauline Ruth Hollamby, age 86, of Goshen, passed away at 2:47 a.m., Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at Goshen Hospital after an extended illness.
She was born November 9, 1933, in Bloomingdale, Penn. to Paul Lavern and Ruth Mae (Stump) Carroll. She had lived in Long Island, NY and lived in the Nappanee area for the last 20 years.
Hollamby loved her children and enjoyed crafting and quilting. She did not let the negativity of life hold her back and was very giving, compassionate and encouraging to all she met. She enjoyed going to Taco Bell in Middlebury and being “town counselor” to anyone who wanted to talk.
Hollamby enjoyed daily life and had been known as “Speedy” in the nursing home because of her tendency to race her wheelchair.
She is survived by her children, Tony (Elaine) Hollamby, Long Island, NY, Carl Hollamby, Clermont, Fla., Linda (David) Yemin, Israel; 7 grandchildren 6 great-grandchildren; siblings, Lillian (Ray) Mast, New Paris, Ed Carroll and Elwood Carroll, both of Elkhart, Audrey Carroll, Goshen, Marlin Carroll, Quincey, MI and Rose Valdevia, Mich.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Grace Weaver; a brother, Paul Carroll; a sister-in-law Silvia Carroll, and a nephew.
Private family services will be held Tuesday, March 24. A burial will take place at Union Center Cemetery in Nappanee.
