John C. Doran
John C. Doran, 69, Rochester, passed away at 9:35 a.m., Friday, March 13, 2020, at his residence.
He was born on Sept. 5, 1950, in LaPorte, the son of Dee and Virginia (Newton) Doran. He served with the United States Army as an infantryman during the Vietnam War and was awarded a bronze star. On Aug. 4, 1985, in Rochester, he married Pat Coplen and she survives.
Mr. Doran had been an Union Carpenter and had been a member of the Moose Lodge, Eagles Lodge, American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post.
Survivors include his wife, Pat Doran, Rochester, children, Jonnie Peterson and husband Ricky, Atlanta, Ga., Kevin Doran and wife Joanna, LaPorte, step-children, Brett Williams and wife Tammy, Logansport, Wendy Malchow and husband Rob, Star City, Heather Shaffer and husband Chris, Rochester, thirteen grandchildren, one great grandchild, with two arriving shortly, and sister, Maggie Doran, Rochester. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, William Doran and Roy Doran, and sister, Janet Buckner.
Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday March 18, at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester. Friends may call from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester, Indiana, where military gravesides services will be conducted by the Fulton County Veterans Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Fulton County Animal Adoption and Education Center.
