Rebecca ‘Becky’ Spangle
Rebecca “Becky” Spangle of Claypool, went home to be with the Lord at 6:10 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2020, at Parkview Hospital Randallia in Fort Wayne at the age of 81.
She was born on June 8, 1938, in Salyersville, Ky. to Dollie (Mullins) and Dorton Manns. On Nov. 16, 1956, she was married to Duane Earl Spangle, who survives.
Becky was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, Indiana spending the majority of her life in the Silver Lake and Claypool communities. She attended Silver Lake High School, enjoyed gardening and loved her flowers. She was a wonderful homemaker and her greatest job was raising her children and being a mom. She showed her love to her family in many ways and one of her favorite ways was by cooking and providing many wonderful meals over the years. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She dearly loved her family and especially her grandchildren, all were equally her favorite, and will be dearly missed.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 63 years, Duane E. Spangle, Claypool; two daughters: Cheryl (Larry) Gibson, Claypool; Dana Owens, Silver Lake; two sons: Bruce (Lori) Spangle, Claypool; and Brian (Tamie) Spangle, Leesburg. She also leaves behind fourteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; and her sister: Della (Lamoine) Leckrone, Warsaw. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Russell and his wife Brenda Spangle, son-in-law, Gale Owens, six brothers, Russell, Dayton, Edward, Ortie, Gene and Mitchell Manns, and her sister Grace Azbill.
Visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
Becky’s life will be celebrated with a service at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 18, at Gospel Hill Pentecostal Church of God, 303 S Jefferson St, Silver Lake, and officiated by Pastor Justin Harshman and Pastor William Whitaker. Burial will follow with a graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw, Indiana.
